Well, this is my latest project. Can you guess what it is? Hint! It's near the ground next to my tool shed.

I'm thinking it's a trap for what ever varment is living under your shop building. I need to get that plan.

Looks like varmints can get out but not back in the same way.... Maybe! :?:

That's what it is. A one way 'get out free' for my resident skunk. I installed it yesterday afternoon but my skunk hasn't realized YET that it/he/she needs to just push it out. It's counterbalanced so it will open with the slightest nudge and then close back so re-entry won't be permitted. I figure that it will soon enough get hungry and thirsty enough to do that little trick. To play on the hunger issue, I may put a peanut butter sandwich about a foot in front of the door this evening. ;)

As of yesterday it had not figured out to just push on the wire, but I'll bet he will when he gets thirsty enough.

August 3: The trip was triggered when I looked this morning and the gate is closed. The question now is whether the critter got all the way out before the trip triggered or if it got partially out and backed in. Time and odor will tell. If the odor remains this evening, he/she/it/they will get another dose of smoke bomb. Fingers crossed at the moment. Three months of unpaid rent is justification for eviction in Tennessee.
