2018 Tool Sale

Postby rgulley » Wed May 02, 2018 6:48 am

Tool Sale is almost upon us. I hope to have 3 signs finished this week. One at the Co-op, one at main St Decherd, and one at the church. I suppose we ought to put it on the radio too.
Vacation Bible School is scheduled fro June 11th and staging area for props is in the gym, but I'll make sure it's moved to the back of the gym. I don't think it will be a problem. Anything else we need to do?

The guys in the UTSI computer center made us two double sided signs for the tool sale. They're swapping out some CNC work I did for the Physical Plant.

Well, there's a fly in the ointment. Vacation Bible School starts June 11 and props are being built in the gym. I knew that and had planned on just moving everything toward the back on tool sale day. But we're also having a dinner in the gym on May 20th and we usually set up the tables and chairs on the Wednesday night before. I didn't plan on that.

Options are
1) Church will set up back half of gym and we use the front half. After sale is over, we can arrange the tables and chairs for the half we were using.
2) A variation on that theme, depending on response Tuesday night, is for us to use the whole gym and set up all the tables and chairs after the sale.
3) Totally different approach would be to set up outside and in the fellowship hall where we had the Christmas dinner. We would have to return any tables we use back to the gym after the sale.

Well, the weather channel is predicting 50% chance of thunder showers for Saturday so I'm not keen on an outside event. Surely we can get the sale participants to pitch in and do the table thing. We could set a closing time of noon or 1 PM to make that a feasible approach. Half of the gym should be plenty of space.
