After the book nook project was completed by the Wood Club, I was asked to create a wooden sign for BluBearz Artisan's Shoppe and Crafters Center in Tullahoma where they sell Blue Monarch merchandise. This project was the second of four community wood carving projects I provided in 2017. The design goal was to replicate the script and butterfly that are the Blue Monarch logo. So far in my sign-making career, this script presented the most challenges in making three dimensional lettering out of two-dimensional hand-writing. On the other hand, even though I have never claimed to be a painter, I used some of the painting advice that I have received from the other carvers like Blue Pau to produce an acceptable result.
