Soap Finish???

I thought I had heard of every type of finish but this is a new one on me. He calls it a Traditional Soap Finish.

I donno Sid. Looks to me like it would be more productive to rub in some oil like Watco or Deft and call it a day without raising the grain. Of course, the oil will stink and you have to be careful with your used rags but I think oil would be more durable, especially if you add a little wax, and just about as easy to repair. Interesting to know that other people have different ideas on how to do things.
