Decorating a bowl on the CNC

An old saying "For a boy with a hammer, everything is a nail". Having a CNC in the shop leaves you with no alternative to finding a nail. My nail in this case is a chunk of walnut.

Mounting was done with the help of a flat board screwed to the bottom of the workpiece

If that was done on a lathe it would be called a "turning" . What do you call it when it was made on a cnc machine ? Nice work what ever you call it.

Well, actually the only part done on the CNC is the carving on the top rim. The rest was turned on my lathe so I'm calling it a turning. Maybe we should have a contest to come up with a new name for hybrids like this.

How about it being called a "creation"? Neat idea. :geek:
