2019 tool sale

The tool sale is upon us. I’m gonna modify the old signs and put them up tomorrow. Who’s planning on selling?

I'll come and sell something. Don't know what yet, but something!

I plan to bring a few things. I've got old "Do It Yourself" books I will almost give away.

Don’t forget the tool sale Saturday at 8:00. Friday at 4:00 pm if you’re selling. If you do social media, how about posting the sale. We haven’t advertised much.

I don't know about you, but that tool sale idea was a great one. I think Richard figured that out before anyone else; it was his idea after all.

I came away with a miter gauge that Henry didn't need any more and I needed to use with an extruded aluminum fence piece that I got at a tool sale a few years ago. The price was right and it came home with me. I'll put it to good use as a never changed, 90 degree miter gauge so that the other gauges can do the utility work and this one will always be set right.

I was able to find a home for a couple of items that have been just taking up space in my crowded shop for years. One of the items was never used; a jig with several templates for fancy joinery. My Leigh Jig was all I ever use for that sort of joinery and the lady that bought it was happy to have it for the bargain price posted on it. It was brand new, never used. Now maybe it'll find some value.

The box joint router table and templates that were taking up space on my shelf are now in the shop of a woodworker with the need to make several boxes for a project. I used that thing to make a whole lot of box joints several years ago before it went into semi retirement when the Leigh jig found a home in my shop. Both of us are happy about the sale.

As I said before, that is a good idea whose time had come. Many happy returns.

It would be an interesting experiment and another Show&Tell opportunity. Why not? I think it could evolve into a bit of a Craft Show but would need some promotion for that to bear fruit.
