At our meeting last night Alf Sharp gave us a very interesting program om the history of furniture. For those that don't know Alf he goes way back with the club and has been a great frend of the clubs for many years. He has been our guest presenter for at least two seminars, given several programs over the years and attended our exhibits. Alf was amont the fist “professional” woodworker we had as a presenter. As I remember that was November of 1990 at Phil Bishop's shop and in May of 1996 at Tom Cowan's shop. I have attached a few pictures of those events.

I think that was the seminar that Alf "tuned up" Tom Cowan's dovetail saw. I'm not sure Tom ever forgave him for that.

Alf is a great presenter and one of the best furniture makers in the country. He probably knows more about furniture than anyone, but Tom was an expert too.

And you're correct Henry: He's a good friend of the Club.
