Tom Cowan's presentation on patera was an inspiring talk with photos and examples. Tom, as usual, claimed that the process is simple and went through a step by step explanation of everything from getting your pattern from catalogs and magazines through cutting the tiny pieces out and finally to filling any gaps using a wood putty like substance.

For me -- a wood putterer -- the process seemed pretty simple but the details daunting. Hand/eye coordination is something Tom excels in and something for which I'll admit a distinct shortcoming. Be that as it may, Tom did a great job of organizing the presentation so that even I was able to follow the process.
Great job that!
