a Simple Bowl

Postby loyd » Wed Dec 03, 2014 8:43 pm

My wife wants a few small bowls to put candies etc in as gifts to a few lady friends. I haven't turned a simple bowl in a long time and figured I would whip out a few for her this morning. I've since put that idea in abeyance to reconsider the project. The first one took me about 2 hours to do [if you don't count the lacquer finishing]. That second one . . . well, I donno!

That is a very nice candy dish Loyd. I'll take one filled up with M&M's!

I think she has some truffle thing in mind but I'll go with the M&Ms.

A strange feeling just came over me-could be motivation.

Get at it. Christmas is coming. We'd hate to see you stoop to going to a department store.

Well, I just finished my order of 5 very small bowls for the wife's neighborhood gift packs. Actually two of them are still wet in the shop but I have every reason to believe that they will dry so I'm calling them done. 8-)

I did. I made a couple of cutting boards and started to finish a bowl but decided I needed to clean up first . I got bored with that real quick and quit again.Maybe I can get motivated again.

Put some excitement into the clean-up task Stanley. If you look at the condition of my shop at the moment you'd see that it would require energy, cunning, and skill to clean it up. But then I wouldn't know where to look for the tools I have just used.

Wait a minute! I can't find the tools I just used now and that's the motivation for the clean-up. But the motivation isn't strong enough so I guess it'll just have to remain the way it is until Doyle organizes another shop tour out this way.
