2013 TVW Turning Bee

Turners: Make sure you put the Turning Bee on your calendar for June 8. The Bee will be held at Larry Wendland's shop on Dunk Blanton Road between Manchester and Tullahoma. Be sure to come at 0800 so we can begin at 0830 with the actual turning. We'll have refreshments for a reception at 0800 (coffee/pastries) and drinks throughout the day courtesy of the Club. But this is a BYOB party (bring your own brownbag) for lunch because there is no restaurant within a reasonable distance. We'll have several lathes and several turning mentors to help you get started.

The purpose of the Turning Bee is to help new turners get started or to help rusty turners to get restarted. If you are anyone else in the turning experience/skill continuum come on out and help in any way you can, but remember that the purpose of the thing is to turn novices into turners. Let's reiterate that: Anyone from novice to expert is welcome and encouraged to come but the lathes go first to the new guys/gals.

I would highly recommend the Turning Bee. It is a great place to get started in turning or just polish up your current skills. a majority of our club members got their first "taste" of turning at one of the turning bee's. Come out and enjoy the fun. ;)
