This past weekend, January 27 and 28, 2018, the Splinter Carvers hosted Adina Huckins for a wood carving seminar. Adina is a nationally recognized wood carver from Arkansas (
www.adinahuckins.com) who specializes in carving female forms. Therefore the project that she was requested to teach was a female face. The seminar was held at Jim Jolliffe’s shop and attended by nine members of the Wood Club. Adina was an exceptional teacher and offered step-by-step instruction on carving all of the facial features. She included in-depth explanations of human anatomy that helped the carvers understand why and how to carve each portion of the head and face. Photographs taken during the seminar can be found in the Gallery / Seminars folder.
