TENNESSEE VALLEY WOOD WORKERS

      SPLINTERS                                                                                   September 1994     - -

FaIl is almost with us. These cool evenings are a delightful change. We’ve got an inside scoop on the true meteorological cause of our extended summer rains and the ensuing persistently luscious lawns. Yes, we owe it all to a conspiracy of greed by a consortium of lawnmower manufactures, dealers, repair people and gardeners. This is no different than frequent lightening strikes known to be caused by greedy Television repair and sales people. Thats right ... just remember you heard it first right here in the “Splinters”, published for the inquiring mind by the lame minded.

THANKS FOR THE THANKS

At our last meeting the club honored Susan and I with a surprise Thank You with a neet message composed by Henry and Judy Davis accompanied by a lovely cherry kitchen tray built by Phil Bishop. We return the thanks to Jim VanCleave and the membership for recognizing our efforts on the newsletter – it’s truly a nice feeling to be recognized by such a fine group. Help we get from the membership in contributing news items makes it easier for us and more meaningful to all of our readers -- keep up the good work!!! Please also let us know if you might be interested in helping out with the production or distribution end of the newsletter. We don’t mean to “Hog all the glory here” if anyone is interested in transitioning to editor and chief, we’re here to help.

SEPTEMBER SESSION

Our September agenda includes (1) Update of picnic details (2) A super show and tell starring our award winning cast of you our clever and talented members (3) A “brief’ discussion of electric motors, testing junk motors, building a 3 phase power converter and speed control. Bring a junk motor and we’ll try to figure it out,

The Tennessee Valley Woodworkers’ Sign seems to be among the lost tribes of Tennessee. If you know of whereabouts please report at the nest meeting. It’s in the shape of Tennessee. Phone home, please.
