THIS NEWSLETTER....THE FOURTH ANNUAL TENNESSEE VALLEY

WOODWORKER”S PICNIC. JULY IS ALSO NOT A MONTH FOR PONDERING OVER

A LONG AND INVOLVED NEWSLETTER....AREN’T WE ALL FORTUNATE THAT

OUR PICNIC FALLS IN THIS LOVELY MONTH OF JULY. WITHOUT FURTHER

IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR, ONCE AGAIN. AND THE FOLKS AT FALLS MILL, JOHN AND JANIE LOVETT HAVE AGREED TO LET US CONGREGATE AT THEIR BEAUTIFUL SPOT. OUR THANKS TO THEM!

 

CHICKEN WILL BE PROVIDED AND THEIR WILL BE PLENTY, SO BRING YOUR

FAVORITE SALAD, OR VEGETABLE, OR DESSERT. BE SURE TO BRING MY

FAVORITE DESSERT. BREAD AND DRINKS WILL BE PROVIDED BY THE CLUB

PLUS PLATES, NAPKINS, AND OTHER NECESSITIES. BY THE WAY CAMPERS,

BRING A SERVING SPOON FOR YOUR DISH IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT.

 

BUT DON’T FORGET THE MOST IMPORTANT PART:     BRING YOUR FAVORITE

LAWN CHAIR TO SIT AND RELAX AND EAT IN WHILE THE PARTY IS GOING

ON.

I KNOW WHAT YOU’RE THINKING AND THIS ISN’T THE CHICAGO SUN TIMES.

THERE WILL BE FOUR CATEGORIES AND A FIRST, SECOND, AND THIRD

PLACE IN EACH CATEGORY. ENTER AS MANY CATEGORIES AS YOU LIKE.

You CAN ONLY WIN ONCE IN EACH CATEGORY. AND THE OFFICIALS ASK

THAT YOU NOT ENTER ITEMS THAT HAVE BEEN ENTERED IN PREVIOUS

YEARS.

         

THE FOUR CATEGORIES ARE:

CARVING

FURNITURE

TURNING

CRAFTS

 

THERE WILL ALSO BE A BEST OF SHOW AWARD WITH A VERY SPECIAL

PRIZE THIS YEAR. YOU CAN HANG IT ON YOUR WALL OR USE IT IN YOUR

SHOP. ENTER AND FIND OUT.

 

JUDGING WILL BE DONE BY VOTING AS IN PREVIOUS YEARS.

          DON’T FORGET 6:30   STARTING TIME FOR THE PICNIC

 

 

LOCAL NEWS

FLASH ———A TULLAHOMA GROUP IS PUTTING TOGETHER A “HANDS ON

SCIENCE CENTER” IN THE OLD TULLAHOMA POST OFFICE. THEY WILL BE

SOLICITING THE HELP OF FELLOW W00DWORKERS TO FABRICATE VARIOUS

STANDS, BASES AND SUPPORTS FOR ACTUAL SCIENCE DEMONSTRATIONS. THE

WHOLE IDEA IS TO LET STUDENTS OF ALL AGES ACTUALLY EXPERIENCE

SCIENTIFIC PHENOMENA BY PARTICIPATING IN THE PRESET EXPERIMENTS.

THUS FAR THE GROUP HAS CONTACTED BILL CHEW, JIM VANCLEAVE AND TOM

GILLARD. INDICATIONS ARE THAT MATERIALS AND SKETCHES WILL BE

FURNISHED BY THE GROUP. MORE DETAILS WILL BE AVAILABLE AS THE

GROUP JELLS AND IDENTIFIES FUNDING. PLEASE CONTACT BILL, JIM OR

TOM FOR IMMEDIATE DETAILS. COME SEPTEMBER WE MAY BE ABLE TO HAVE

THEM VISIT AT OUR MEETING.
