Discussion of Dues
- Should we have a penalty in place after a specific date to encourage members to pay dues early?
- A motion by Paul Fulks was made and later withdrawn to create an additional $5 charge for membership renewals after a specified date
- Discussion of by-law change for the above penalty. Draft of by-law change proposal was created. Exec committee later voted to take this to the members for vote in Feb
Program Budget
- $400 carry-over from last year; program chairperson uses his/her discretion to reimburse gas for persons traveling a distance
Library Budget
- increase to $300; Exec committee voted this in
Safety and Health contact
- Gregg Sterling with Mike Zuccaro support ? these will be asked to support this position
Liability discussion
- Discussed buying club insurance to cover event hosts; Loyd (and other?) will look into this
2011 TVWW Schedule
- We discussed the need for club to work with carver group on specific shows (Polly Crocket and Web school)
- Discussed all TVWW standard events – see slides
- Potential to work Cowan RR Days Jun 4-6 and meeting at Tom Cowan’s gallery
- Picnic – will ask Felix to organize this again; also will need to get with Falls Mills for a date
- Spring Seminar – Paul Fulks generously volunteered his shop and his organization skills for this ? - THANKS! – proposed date April 16
- Christmas party – will ask Dan Maher to chair again; proposed date Dec 9
- Turning bee at Tom Cowan’s – HE NEEDS HELP – he will host but is asking that someone else take the lead on all organization aspects – we need a dependable organizer for this ; potential date June 4
- Shop tours – Doyle to chair this?
- Fall Seminar – Tom Cowan to present; Oct 22
- Workshops – Tom Cowan will host some at his gallery with limited attendance (5-6); he suggested topics including gold life, inlay, Chippendale mirror, carving
Chairs
- need to have additional fold-out chairs available for the meetings reliably
Grand Door Prize
- will start up this policy that was used in the past; members sign a roster each time they attend a meeting and at the end of the year all names will go into a hat for a grand prize drawing
