The meeting was held in Room H111 at UTSI. Tom Gillard Jr. chairman.

90 members and guests attended

            Coffee County Fair Sept 17 – 22

            Fall Seminar will be Oct. 20

Fred Heltsley has  Books from spring seminar

 

New business;

Ken Gould, Poly Crocket Days at Cowan will be Sept 15 – 16. Sernicola’s restaurant is sponsoring booths for the TVWW and Blacksmiths.

Bob Leonard, A book on tree identification is available for $19.77

Dan Maher, Fall seminar will be Oct. 20 at Collins Roan’s shop. Presenters will be; Jim Van Cleave – Cabreo legs, Jim Hazel – Chair Caning, Doyle McConnell – Split turning, Tom Cowan – Furniture decoration.

Doyle McConnell,  A video on the Coffee County Fair, Shop tours will resume this Saturday, meeting at the Manchester Cracker Barrel at 8:00 am

Henry Davis, Club library has videos to lend. The library will consist of CDs, DVDs, and Tapes, Wayne Suter of Woodline will donate a copy of all DVDs they have.

Loyd Ackerman, There will be an AARP sponsored driver safety program for seniors on Sept. 25 – 26 at the Forest Mill Church of Christ. Those attending may possabily get a discount on their insurance.

Ken Gould, Has a list of rustic furniture and other items wanted by an individual in east Tennessee.

Walnut board auction was held, It was bought by Tom Cowan for $105.00

 

Splinter Carvers News

Next meeting will be September 1 at Jim Wright’s

They will attend the Poly Crockett days in Cowan and Web School festival.
